Magnus Cort with his second stage win at La Vuelta. A mini crash with 53km to go threatening to put a Roglic and Adam Yates out of contention but both recovering to finish in the reduced peloton. It wasn’t a particularly bad crash as the speed in which the riders were going was pretty much safe. As usual in such crashes, the tendency to look at the rider in front of you and not the road evident here. Watch as the cyclists all follow the first crash victim out to the right side of the road into the dirt. Those who hit the breaks early avoided it. Stage 12 was a 175km course at Cordoba with two climbs in the final 60km. The downhill at the start made it especially difficult to break away early. Great effort from Michael Matthews who finished second behind Cort in the reduced bunch finish. Check out Cort’s teammate Jens Keukeleire creating a lead out at time 3:43:49 for the Dane. Odd Christian Eiking still has overall lead as he finished in the peloton by 58 seconds over Frenchman Guillaume Martin with Roglic a further 1minute 56 in third.
