EURO 2020:NETHERLANDS VS CZECH REPUBLIC

Oranje flattering once again only to deceive. Matty De Ligt’s red card will be blamed for this latest Dutch national disaster but I beg to differ. Holland hardly threatened the Czechs up to that point and were made to pay for their lack of a proper number nine. The trend in world soccer right from Man City to Barcelona to Liverpool is that the traditional number nine is no longer a necessity. How wrong. There are instances were a big target man up front is needed. Watch in the 17TH MINUTE. An attack on the wing(The Dutch’s strongest position) and a cut back which had no takers in the middle. By the time the red card came and Frank De Boer decided on Weghoust the game was gone. No surprise the match ended with zero shots on target for the Dutch. The big players Depay and Malen failed to come to the party. Watch the later make a hush of a great chance on 51 minutes.

The Czechs were magnificent with all the plaudits belonging to the defender Kalas, sitting midfielder Hole and striker Schick. The later underlining his growing rep with a ice cool finish to seal the win. De Ligt always ran the risk of a red by handling the ball as he went down expecting the foul. Assumption bite you. Czechs to face Denmark for a place in the last eight and it is back to the drawing board for Holland.
