TOUR DE SUISSE STAGE 4

Well it took over 100km for someone to attack the race but it ended up being a great sprint at the end. Stefan Bissenger of Switzerland winning his second stage of the his first season as a pro after winning a stage in Paris-Nice earlier this year. The wet road called for a calm ride and Stefan did just that, lagging from that breakaway with about 70km to go then attacking the descent. Benjamin Thomas of France tried to pip Bissenger right at the death but the gap made by the winner of the race was too great. The overall leader Van Der Poel made sure he finished safely in the peloton to retain his yellow jersey. American Joey Rosskopf didn’t have the leg to maintain second spot going into the last 100meters

The 171km race had one last climb and descent at the end and was reduced by seven riders owing to a positive test among team Intermarche’s crew. Artificial barriers created by organizers right at the end of the race(2.5km) was an opportunity for Joey to seize the lead but he opted to play it safe which was a big mistake on his part.
