The cycling world tour detoured into Austria for the Tour of the Alps in Innbruck,Austria. Ineos Grenadiers rider Gianni Moscon managed to bide his time and set the early pace with first stage win.

The Italian held off Norwegian Idar Andersen in the fast 3.5km going back and forth but ultimately outpacing him through pure leg strength. The course is a climbers paradise which is a perfect practice platform for the upcoming Giro D’Italia. The course restricts the winner’s margin of victory to under ten seconds but it’s good as ever to get that first stage win to boost your morale.
