VUELTA A VALENCIA STAGE 4

Never underestimate the role lady luck plays in sport.Ask Enric Mas. The overnight general classification leader in the Tour of Valencia had a puncture during his time trial race. Mas would be gutted by the unfortunate turn of events. The road looked so smooth with no obstructions but hey we all have seen the tiniest of pebbles causing punctures to car tyres let alone bike wheels 🤷.

Stefan Kung of Switzerland was the fastest in the 14km time trial and boy was he miles on top. He time of 16:12 was way in front. The winning margin was enough for Kung to leapfrog to the top of the overall standings. We think Arnaud Demarie missed an opportunity to really set a competitive time when he went up first.

The wind had not picked up yet offering Arnaud the distinct advantage. It did pick up later on making like hard for the riders given the wide roads. Phew this one was close. Kung nearly crashed at the bend with 1km from the finish, with a fellow rider from France there.🚴🚴.
