Bayern, smarting from their midweek cup humiliation, got an all mighty scare at home to Freiburg but came good at the end.Polish hotshot Lewandolski took next to no time at all to stamp his name on the board, 7 minutes to be precise.Great vision from Muller to pick him out. He is just a joy to watch in the box is Lewandolski. The heroics of Freiburg keeper Florian Muller cannot be understated. He kept the scores at 1-0 with world class strings of saves. Despite the best efforts of his opposite goal minder Neuer to keep out Nils Petersen’s header from a corner kick set piece on 62 minutes, goal line technology signaled a goal. Bayern looked to immediately retake the lead and they did just that twelve minutes later. Time seemed to stand still as Thomas Muller side foot volleyed the ball into Muller’s left side of the net to score the second for Bayern. Freiburg may have been hoping for offside on Sane but the German International winger was not interfering with play so the goal stood. Bayern are now 4 points clear of second place Leipzig who dropped points at Wolfsburg.
This is a big improvement from last year for the home side in which Wolfsburg got a 6-1 bashing from Leipzig. Comical defending cost them the three points. The defenders just ball watched the ball into the net.
In my last match review, Frankfurt put Schalke in their place to snuff out any hope of a resurgence by the Ruhr Valley side. The returning Luka Jovic(On loan from Real Madrid) scored twice for Eintract on the right side of a Matthew Hoppe equalizer.
