BRIGHTON VS SHEFFIELD UNITED

Ten men are sometimes hard to break down but doing the same thing over and over again does not help. It was only in the last five minutes of the game that Brighton varied the play, pumping crosses in putting the Sheffield United defence under pressure.

Conceding against ten men us bad enough especially from a deflected shot. But let’s disect this. Brighton were so cautious that they forgot to add an extra attacker at half time after Lundstrum was sent off. Only when Welbeck was brought on did the attacking threat increase. As for the Blades this must be taken as a positive even though they lost 2 points. I get the feeling they now need just one win to live off the season and they are on their way.
