Barely two weeks after Diego Maradona’s passing, soccer is mourning the loss of Italian 1982 World cup winner Paulo Rossi. He was selected for the Italy 1982 World cup squad under the cloud of controversy. He was banned in 1982 for 3 years following the Totonero match fixing scandal, the predecessor to the Calciopoli scandal of 2006.He was included despite being “out of shape” as critics then said of him. He scored a memorable hat trick against an awesome Brazil team many pundits had picked to win that year’s world cup.

Success! You're on the list.
