The Cowboys’ defeat makes them 3-8 the worst in NFC. They had their intent known early with their quarterback Andy Dalton looking for his teammates for the early TD. They were first on the score board with a 4th down kick from Greg Zuerlein. This proved to be their only points of the quarter. The Redskins immediately went on the offensive but let down by inaccurate throwing by Alex Smith. They eventually got the first TD of the match through Antonio Gibson.
The 2nd quarter was an entertaining affair. Andy Dalton found Amari Cooper deep on the 30 yard line who outran the Redskins defender for the Cowboys first TD. Washington leveled things up with a Hopkins kick with 7 to go in the quarter. They found a way to unlock the Cowboys’s defensive door again with 2 left in the quarter. Smith found Logan Thomas from the 10 yard zone. Washington go into the 2nd half leading again.
A low scoring third quarter was followed by a demolition job by the Redskins. On fire Anthony Gibson would score 2 more touch downs. A moment to remember for Montez Sweat whose monster intercept to score a touch down was awesome. 41-16 to the Redskins it finished. They lead the NFC EAST with 4-7.
