Andrey Rublev is a man on fire on the tour picking up his 3rd ATP 500 tournament since restart. Facing Sonego the man who beat Djokovic in the quarters,Rublev couldn’t afford to be complacent. He duly broke Sonego’s serve in the 5th game of the 1st set. He held on to take it 6-4. The second was much closer despite also having a single break. Andrey broke the Italian’s serve in the 9th game to take the match by the same scoreline.
Sonego can be proud of the week he had. Only playing as a replacement for Diego Schwatzman.
