It is now 7 years since Sir Alex, one of the greatest managers in the world has ever seen, trodded off the Hawthorns pitch after a scarcely believable 5-5 draw with West Brom. Since then Manchester United has experimented with Moyes, Louis Van Gaal and Jose Mourinho with little success. United however has shown a little stability for a year and a half now thanks to the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
United for me are the dark horses for this season’s PREMIERSHIP title because of two things. Number one is the manager. Ole knows exactly the style of play he wants from his players,an attacking quick transition game. Central to this is Bruno Fernandes. The former Sporting CP captain has changed the entire mentality of the team. It’s like United has 2 Captains when he is in the team. United in recent years hasn’t been particularly great in the transfer market(Di Maria😂). His signing was the equivalent of Real Madrid signing Ronaldo in my opinion.
The second thing is United for the first time since Sir Alex left have a strong bench to choose players from if the first 11 is rubbish. Back in 2013, united could call on the Welbecks and the Kagawas if things went belly up during a game. These days they have the Greenwoods and the Williams to call upon who can hold their own mind you. Plus they now have a season’s experience under their belt. Under estimate United at your own peril
